About
My name is Bill Fisher (AKA: Big Fish). I have been actively involved in website development for about eight years and I enjoy taking on new challenges in my spare time. Working with web design is only my part-time occupation, as I’m currently employed in the computer servicing field. I manage the help desk/classroom support section at a local college.
HISTORY
I graduated high school in 1996 and nineteen days after that I left for Army basic training at Fort Jackson, SC. After basic training was complete, I started my advanced individual training as a heavy wheeled vehicle mechanic (63S). Once that was complete, I was stationed at Fort Hood, TX for the rest of my time. During that time, I was deployed to Bosnia once for about seven months. I was honorably discharged in late May of 1999.
In January 2000, I started taking classes at the college where I work now. I started off as a student assistant in the tech support department. Some of my duties included turning classrooms on, setting up laptop labs and troubleshooting classroom equipment. It was around this time when my first web page was created. It’s still active to this day and it’s funny to see it now. (link)
I graduated in 2003 with an associate’s degree in “computer servicing and network technology”. I also received a one year certificate for computer repair and my A+ certification. About one year after graduation, a part-time staff position opened up at the college and I got it. About two years ago, my boss took a higher position and I got her job which is a full-time staff position.
My interest in building websites is still growing and with every project that I work on, I learn something new.
